Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Wenu, a service of [COMPANY] (“we”), registered at [Registered address], with registration number [Registration number]. They cover the wenu.life website, the web app at wenu.life/app, the emails we send and the Pro plan (the “Service”). By using the Service, you accept these terms.

1. What Wenu is

Wenu is a weekly meal planner for a household. It lets you keep the dishes you cook (the Dish Library), plan each day’s meals, make the shopping list, share all of it with the people you live with and get the menu by email.

2. Acceptance and minimum age

If you don’t agree with these terms, don’t use the Service. To use it you must be at least 14, or the minimum age your country’s law requires to give your consent. To subscribe to Pro you must be an adult.

3. Your account

You’re responsible for what’s done with your account and for keeping access to it secure. If you think someone has got into your account, write to us as soon as you can.

4. Households, owners and members

Everything in Wenu belongs to a household. Whoever creates a household is its owner: they can invite people, remove members, change the household’s settings, subscribe to or cancel Pro and delete the household. Members see and change the household’s menu, Dish Library and shopping list.

Only invite people who want to join. When you join a household, its members will see your name and email, and what you add becomes part of the household: if you leave or the owner removes you, it stays. If the owner deletes the household, all of its content is deleted for all of its members.

5. Your content

Your content is yours: the dishes, ingredients, menus, lists and any other text you keep in Wenu. You give us permission to store it, copy it, process it and show it to your household’s members and in the emails you choose to get, only to provide the Service and while you use it.

You’re responsible for what you write. Don’t keep content in Wenu that you have no right to use, or anything illegal.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal, fraudulent or harmful.
  • Use Wenu’s invites or emails to send spam or bother other people.
  • Try to get into accounts or households that aren’t yours.
  • Interfere with the Service, overload it, scrape it, or get around its limits, permissions or security measures.
  • Copy, resell or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.

7. Plans

Each household has its own plan.

Free plans the week with a limited number of dishes and one person in the household, its owner. The current limits are shown on the pricing page and in the app.

Pro adds, among other things, sharing the household with more people, unlimited dishes, a shopping list that fills itself, Ideas and more emails. What each plan includes is shown on the pricing page and in the app, and it may change over time; we’ll tell you beforehand if a change is to your disadvantage.

If a household goes back to Free, nothing is deleted, but its limits apply again: for example, only its owner can open it until it’s on Pro again.

8. Payment, renewal and cancellation

Price. Pro is paid monthly or yearly. Before you pay, we show you the price, the currency, the period, any applicable taxes and the terms of any trial or promotion. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Free trial. We may offer a free trial of Pro, once per person. If you cancel before it ends, you aren’t charged. If you don’t, the paid period starts when it ends.

Automatic renewal. By subscribing to Pro, you authorise us to charge the price to your payment method at the start of each period until you cancel. Before each yearly renewal we remind you by email.

Cancellation. You can cancel anytime in Settings, in the app. Pro stays on until the end of the paid period (or the trial), and then the household goes back to Free. We don’t refund periods that have already started, unless the law requires it.

Changing period. Going from monthly to yearly applies at once: the year is charged, less what’s left of the month. Going from yearly to monthly applies at the end of the yearly period.

Failed payments. If a charge fails, we’ll tell you by email and Pro’s features will be paused until it’s paid. If it isn’t resolved, the household goes back to Free.

Price changes. If we change the price, we’ll tell you in advance, and the new price will apply from the first renewal after the notice. You can cancel before then if you don’t agree.

Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have 14 days from subscribing to Pro to withdraw without giving a reason, by writing to support@wenu.life. When you subscribe, you ask us to start Pro at once; if you withdraw within that period, we refund what you paid less an amount in proportion to the time you used it. During a free trial nothing has been charged, so cancelling is enough.

9. Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep Wenu running at all times, but there may be interruptions for maintenance, faults or causes beyond our control. We may improve, change or withdraw features. If we stop providing the Service, we’ll give you reasonable notice, a chance to ask for a copy of your data and a refund of the unused part of what you’ve paid.

10. Suspension and closing your account

You can stop using Wenu whenever you like and ask us to delete your account.

We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if it breaks these terms or the law, or puts the Service or other people at risk. Unless it’s urgent or the law prevents it, we’ll tell you beforehand and explain why. If we close your account without you having broken these terms, we’ll refund the unused part of what you’ve paid.

11. Third-party services

To provide the Service we use providers such as Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (payments) and Amazon Web Services (email). Their use may also be subject to their own terms. How they handle your data is explained in the Privacy policy.

12. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions about Wenu, we may use them freely, with no obligation to compensate you.

13. Warranties

We provide the Service with reasonable care, but as is and as available. Wenu helps you organise meals, but it doesn’t give nutritional or medical advice: you decide what you cook and eat, and you’re responsible for taking allergies, intolerances and diets into account.

Nothing here limits the guarantees your country’s consumer law gives you.

14. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect damages, such as lost profits or data loss that isn’t our fault. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to what you paid for Wenu in the 12 months before the event giving rise to it, or €50, whichever is greater.

These limits don’t apply to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, to personal injury, or to anything the law doesn’t allow to be limited.

15. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of [Country]. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the laws of your country of residence that can’t be excluded, and you can go to the courts where you live.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the Service or by email at least 14 days before it applies. If you don’t agree, you can cancel Pro and stop using the Service. If you keep using it afterwards, you accept the new terms.

17. Assignment

We may assign these terms, and with them your account and subscription, to another entity in a corporate transaction, such as a merger, an acquisition, a sale of assets or the transfer of Wenu to a company we set up to run it. We’ll tell you by email before the assignment, and the new entity will keep your rights under these terms. If you don’t agree, you can cancel Pro and stop using the Service. You may not assign your account or these terms without our permission.

18. Contact

If you have questions about these terms, write to us at support@wenu.life.
